Zone Valve Service

Zone valves coordinate thermostat demand and water flow. A failed motor, end switch, wiring connection, valve body, or control can create no-heat and boiler-call problems.

Safety: Do not open gas-fired equipment, alter gas settings, bypass safeties, or work inside electrical controls without the proper qualification. For a gas smell or CO alarm, leave and call the utility or 911 from outside.

Separate motor and valve problems

The actuator may not move, or the actuator may move while the valve body remains restricted. Both mechanical and electrical operation need evaluation.

End-switch logic

Many systems rely on an end switch to prove the valve has opened before the boiler or pump is enabled. A weak or miswired switch can cause intermittent no-heat calls.

System-level testing

Thermostat, transformer, zone control, valve, pump, and boiler enable circuit should be tested as one sequence.

What to send before the visit

  • Clear photo of the rating plate and model number
  • Photo or exact wording of any error code
  • Whether the issue affects space heating, hot water, or both
  • When the problem started and whether a reset temporarily restores operation
  • Your city and preferred service timing

Technical service standards

Test before replacingControls, combustion, venting, condensate, water-side flow, and safeties are evaluated before a replacement recommendation.
OEM-correct repairsCorrect model-specific parts, gaskets, setup procedures, and startup testing are prioritized.
Documented findingsClear findings, repair scope, and approved pricing are reviewed before work proceeds.
Safety-led serviceGas, combustion, venting, electrical, and hydronic conditions are treated as one connected system.
