Outdoor Reset Controls
Outdoor reset adjusts hydronic water temperature in response to outdoor conditions. Correct sensor readings, curve settings, limits, and building response improve comfort and reduce cycling.
Safety: Do not open gas-fired equipment, alter gas settings, bypass safeties, or work inside electrical controls without the proper qualification. For a gas smell or CO alarm, leave and call the utility or 911 from outside.
Sensor accuracy
A damaged, sun-exposed, loose, or miswired outdoor sensor can cause incorrect target temperatures.
Curve setup
Slope, shift, minimum, maximum, and design-temperature settings should match the emitter type and building—not a generic number.
Comfort complaints
Reset settings, flow, balancing, thermostat strategy, and boiler modulation should be reviewed together.
