Gas Valve Diagnostics
Gas-valve diagnosis involves the complete gas train and combustion system. Electrical command, inlet supply, outlet response, venturi or air path, combustion, and manufacturer setup all matter.
A valve should not be adjusted by flame colour alone
Flame appearance is not a substitute for pressure testing, combustion analysis, model specifications, and proper firing-rate procedure.
Command versus response
The control may command a firing rate while the valve, air system, gas supply, or burner fails to produce the expected combustion response.
Licensed service only
Gas-train testing and adjustment require appropriate licensing, instruments, and model-specific procedures.
